SHRC Meeting Schedule and Notices

As a result of the COVID-19 emergency and the Governor’s Executive Orders N-29-20 and N-33-20, this Commission meeting will occur virtually through video and teleconference. There will not be a physical place where the public can go in-person to make public comments. The Commission is conducting the meeting virtually to avoid public gathering and protect the public health during the COVID-19 pandemic.


NOTICE: Commission meetings are live webcast on the CAL-SPAN network: Current meeting agendas are posted to this page ten days prior to the meeting (scroll down). Upon conclusion of each Commission meeting, video recordings and written summaries of the meetings will be posted to the SHRC Meeting Recordings and Summaries page of the Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) website. Printed copies of meeting summaries can be requested by contacting the OHP Registration Unit at (916) 445-7000. Once a meeting is concluded, agenda documents are posted to the SHRC Agenda Archive page of the OHP website. Past years' meeting recordings, summaries, and minutes can be accessed on the SHRC Meeting Summaries page. 

Nominations to be reviewed at SHRC meetings are posted on the Pending Nominations page, approximately 60 days before each meeting. Current meeting agendas and announcements are posted below at least 10 days prior to each meeting and workshop.

Special Notice Regarding Burro Flats National Register Nomination

Per 36 CFR 60.10 (c), as the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) and the State Historical Resources Commission (SHRC) agreed that the nomination meets the National Register criteria for evaluation in its August 14, 2020 meeting, the nomination was signed by the SHPO and returned to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The opinion of the SHRC will be the recording of the August 14, 2020 meeting. The SHPO’s signed opinion and comments confirmed to NASA that the State nomination procedures have been fulfilled including notification requirements. Any comments received by the State were included with the letter.

The NASA Federal Preservation Office (FPO) signed the nomination as co-certifying official and on September 2, 2020 submitted the nomination to the Keeper of the National Register at the National Park Service (NPS). Once received, the NPS has 45 days in which to make a determination. Within that 45 days, the NPS will post a notice to the Federal Register seeking public comments for a fifteen (15) day period, after which a determination will be rendered.
